The Australian National University (ANU) is a public university or college in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Located in the suburb of Acton, the primary campus encompasses seven coaching and research colleges, in conjunction with several countrywide institutes.Founded in 1946, it is the only university to have recently been created by the Legislative house of Australia. Originally a postgraduate research university, ANU commenced undergraduate teaching in 1960 when it included the Canberra University College or university, which was established in 1929 as a grounds of the University of Melbourne.
